Alliance Baptist Church

"As members of Alliance Baptist Church, we confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and proclaim him Lord and Savior of the world." This is the core of our faith! We proclaim this when we choose to be baptized or become a part of the church. We are bound together in the one essential of faith: that the God we know in Jesus Christ is the highest power in our lives and is our Saving Grace. The Love of God embodied in Jesus is the Saving Power for our world.

"In the name of Jesus Christ and by his grace, we accept our mission of witness and service to all people"As a congregation, we accept our call to reflect the life of Christ so that others may know God's love. We believe we are called to serve all God's people.

"We rejoice in God, Maker of Heaven and Earth, and in the covenant of love which binds us to God and one another." That "covenant of love" means that we have a responsibility to God, to each other, and to all of God's creation. To live in relationship with God, is to live in a relationship of love and care with other people and with the Earth itself. Furthermore, we rejoice that we are called to be fully Open and Affirming of individuals who are Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered.

"Through Baptism into Christ, we enter into newness of life and are made one with the whole people of God. In the communion of the Holy Spirit, we are joined together in discipleship and in obedience to Christ." In the waters of baptism, we die to our old life and we rise with Christ to new life. Baptism is an act of God's grace through the church community. When we are baptized we recognize that we are a part of God's people joined in Christ's Spirit. We practice baptism by immersion, in water, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Baptism shall only be administered to such individuals who understand their Christian responsibility.

"At the table of the Lord, we celebrate with thanksgiving the saving acts and presence of Christ." We break bread and share the cup in communion. All Born Again believers are welcome to share in Holy Communion; this is not our table, it is Christ's table. When we share this meal at Christ's table we are reconciled with God and with God's people.

"Within the Universal Christian Church, we receive the gift of ministry and the light of scripture." We celebrate that we are a part of Church of Christ which is greater than any one congregation or denomination. Together, in conversation with other Christians throughout the world and those who have lived before us, we come to know more of God and the life of faith.
