Dear Alliance Members and Friends, As yo may know, Alliance Baptist supports ministeries overseas and in the United States. I recently recieved a letter from the Director of St Joseph's Indian School in Chamberland SD. As your Pastor, I am calling us to pray with the children famlies and friends whoose lives have been touched by Father Steve. The following message was sent to me. Please take some time to read the message and pray. Thank you Pastor Rich Dear Friend, At my annualphysical, my doctor found a lump in my abdomen. Though I would like to reportdifferently, I wanted you to know the news first ...I have cancer - myxoidliposarcoma to be exact. The tumor is classified as high grade, and I havebegun chemotherapy. I have always been strengthened by the prayers and care ofindividuals, like you, who so graciously help us provide for the daily needs ofthe Lakota children at St. Joseph's Indian School. Now, I humbly ask for yourprayers in a more personal way. I also ask for yourpatience. If a letter, phone call or other message back to you is delayed, please understand. My treatment plan will require me to be out of the officefrom time to time. Our dedicated staff will do all they can to take care ofyou, and your needs, in my absence. My staff and I will be providing updates via our blog -www.stjo.org/blog - and our Web site. To follow my journey and send notes ifyou'd like, please visit http://stjo.org Thenotes I've received from family and friends, staff and especially our students, have already lifted my spirits tremendously. Pilamaya - thank you - for your support of the Lakotachildren at St. Joseph's Indian School and your prayers in the months to come. God bless, Fr. Steve P.S. Please join me in this prayer for healing and adapt itfor those you know and love as they travel their own healing journeys. Jesus, Master Physician, You resurrected the dead and restored the health of thesick. I ask for your abounding and healing love for Fr. Steve. Look upon himwith eyes of mercy and may Your healing hand rest upon him. We entreat youLord, that your life-giving powers flow into every cell of his body, restoringhim to wholeness and strengthening him for service in your kingdom. Amen.
